Pyramid Schemes
Pyramid scams never seem to go out of style and for some reason, people never get wise enough to them to stay away from them.

Recently in Boston, police arrested four people in a Pyramid scheme which required “players” to invest an initial amount of $100 or $1000 to start at the bottom of the pyramid. As new players were recruited, they would move up the pyramid with the new players assuming the lower spot. Once at the top, they were told they would win 8 times their initial investment. The pyramid levels were all named for meal courses, starting at “appetizer”, a player hoped to get to the “dessert” level.
As with most pyramid schemes, the number of new players or investors dwindles and participants never make it to the top level. Hundreds of people lost money in this latest scam in Boston.
Aside from being considered an illegal lottery, pyramid schemes always fall apart. Never get involved with anyone proposing a pyramid based scheme for making money. Those promises of riches are never realized and the activity is illegal.
